RFM Analysis in Oracle BI Apps

I wrote the article RFM Analysis earlier.  We recently posted a more detailed description about how Oracle BI Apps implements this concept in the product.

RFA related customer attributes are good examples of aggregated performance metrics as described in this design tip from the Kimball Group

Design Tip #53: Dimension Embellishments
By putting this type of aggregated performance metrics to the dimension table as dimension attributes, the users of BI can easily use it to group, to sort, and to filter customers.

Using the Recency, Frequency, Monetary Score is an easy way to differentiate the customers and help you focus on the valuable customers.
