Analytics workflow describes a serials of steps that users work through to understand the fact, identify the problem area, and to analyze the root cause of problems.
This term is used in Informatica PowerAnalyzer and Informatica Applications to describe a group of prepackaged reports, providing the paths of guided analysis.
In additional to the standard reports, Informatica Applications allows you to run an Analytics Workflow. You will see the first report in the chain and see links to subsequence reports.
The Analytics Workflow concept is similar to the “Related Link” region in DBI. However, I guess that one thing may be different is that the links are defined under the context of a workflow so I guess the reports can be reused in different workflows but the links do not need to be the same.
The design of an analytics workflow reflects the fact finding, problem identification and decision making processes.
