INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE

This is an ETL extract configuration used in Oracle BI Applications ETL architecture.

This data load parameter limits the volume of the data being extracted by setting the upper limit on how old the data will be extracted.  In the ETL process, the value of the parameter is used in setting the variable that filter the data:

SOURCE_TABLE.CREATION_DATE >= #INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE

How to set the INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE data load parameter?

This data load parameter needs to be set based on your analytics reporting requirements.

If you do not need to report the historical data, you do not really need to extract the old data. You can change this data load parameter without doing customization to limit the volume of the data.

This data load parameter can be useful during the testing and development phases to limit the volume of the data being used in testing.
