Dylan's BI Study Notes

My notes about Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, OLAP, and Master Data Management

Property Inheritance (DRM)

Inheritance allows setting the property value for the node at the higher level and share the value with the node at the lower level in the hierarchy.

When you define a custom property, you can enable property inheritance for the property.

When the user enters a value at a parent node, the value will cascading down to its descendants until it is being overridden by the child node.

I feel that property inheritance is a powerful feature that can ensure the data integrity and reduce the maintenance efforts.
